Ivan Fartunov has two years of experience in investment banking, consulting and online media in the Netherlands and Europe.
Ivan gained investment banking experience at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Amsterdam and EFG Eurobank Securities in Sofia. His engagements include advising a major Chinese petrochemical on strategic alternatives in Europe, executing the sale of a synthetic fiber processing facility in Russia, and structuring loan portfolios for several Dutch financial institutions.
As a consultant, Ivan was part of the team that advised LG on their entry in the Benelux Digital Signage market. In particular, he evaluated market potential and analyzed the competitive position of LG’s offering in terms of value-chain integration and flexibility.
Most recently, Ivan served as Interim Director of the online edition of a major Bulgarian newspaper. He oversaw a turnaround, including the restructuring of 85% of the editorial staff and the renewal of the technical infrastructure. Moreover, Ivan played a key role in improving the efficiency of internal information channels and implementing the online coverage of the 2013 parliamentary election campaign.
While at university, Ivan was the vice-president of the university investment club, where he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities in CEE in collaboration with ACATIS Investment– a German value investing fund.
Ivan holds a Bachelor degree in Physics from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany and a Master degree in Finance and Investments from Rotterdam School of Management, the Netherlands. He has also completed study abroad programs at Richard Ivey School of Business, Canada and Washington State University, USA.
